It's one thing to have a beautifully designed presentation... and a completely different thing to know that the your presentation is going to be delivered flawlessly.
When you arrive at a meeting or show, there will be a number of different possbilities for how the show is being run.
If it's a really big event, there will be an entire production team on-site and each person on that team will have a specific responsibility... there'll be a lighting guy, a sound guy, a video guy, possibly a camerman, the production manager, etc., etc.
If it's a smaller event, the team will be smaller and many of the 'guys' (who may also be 'girls') will wear two or three hats.
However, in any size event, there will be someone who is responsible for making sure your presentation is loaded properly into the show computer and ready to go at the right time. (There's nothing worse than walking on stage only to discover your presentation file is not ready and on the screen!)
This person will also ensure that your segment is integrated professionally into the rest of the show content and will also be there to 'manage' the show as you are on-stage. This individual is your back-up, the guy who fixes the situation immediately if anything unpredictable happens. He's the guy who puts the 'icing' on your successful presentation.
